The Californian husband-and-wife indie-pop duo known as Pomplamoose comprises former Stanford students and multi-instrumentalists Jack Conte (born on 12 July 1984 in San Francisco)âwho is also the CEO of Patreonâand Nataly Dawn (born on 29 October 1986 in Sacramento). After forming in 2008 at the beginning of the Internet video revolution, they made their name through sharing viral videos on their social medias and covers of well-known songs, which they described as "videosongs." Their debut self-titled album arrived in 2009 with follow-up Tribute to Famous Peopleâoffering their take on a variety of classic songs including "La Vie en rose" by Edith Piaf and "I Don't Want to Miss a Thingâ by Aerosmithâemerging in 2010. They went on to release albums, EPs, and singles at a consistent rate over subsequent years, taking in LPs such as Besides (2015), Hey It's Pomplamoose (2016) and Winter Wishes (2018). In 2020, they won the YouTube musician awards at the Shorty Awards and shared a lively mash-up of Bill Withers and Lizzo called âLovely Day / Good as Hell." 2021 saw the release of the French-language album Impossible à Prononcer (2021); a covers collection featuring French songs like "Douce France" by Charles Trénet, "Les Copains d'abord" by Georges Brassens, "Vesoul" by Jacques Brel and "Laisse béton" by Renaud. The "à Los Angeles" single followed in 2022, before the release of their Best of 2021, and Daft Punk's covers album Daft Pomp that same year. In 2025, Pomplamoose came back with the French-language album Photogénique.
