Polkaholix is a polka-rock band from Berlin, Germany. The group is known for blending various genres such as rock 'n' roll, ska, punk, and folk into their distinctive sound. Polkaholix gained early recognition with the release of their debut album Denkste! in 2002, which reached Top 20 on the World Music Charts Europe and received nominations for the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik and the RUTH award. The band's subsequent releases included soundtracks for projects like the film Küss mich, Hexe (2004) and the TV documentary Monte Klamotte â Eine Expedition zum Berliner Schuldenberg (2005). Their 2007 album The Great Polka Swindle won the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik in the Folk/World Music category. Polkaholix has toured extensively across Europe, performing in countries such as Germany, Austria, Denmark, Poland, Finland, Croatia, Portugal, and Italy. Notable releases include the mini-album rattenscharf (2013) and the album Sex & Drugs & Sauerkraut (2015).
