Biography
Pivot Gang, a hip hop collective based out of Chicago's Austin neighborhood, was formed in 2011 by brothers Saba (Tahj Malik Chandler) and Joseph Chilliams (Jerrel Chandler), their cousin John Walt (Walter Long), and high school friend MFnMelo (Logan Yutters). Their debut mixtape, JIMMY, was released on October 15, 2013. In 2019, Pivot Gang released their debut album, You Can't Sit With Us, featuring guest appearances from Smino, Kari Faux, and Mick Jenkins among others. The group has also collaborated with artists such as Lucki, Martin $ky, Ausar, Noname, and DJ Damnage. On August 17, 2021, the group announced the passing of member squeakPIVOT, who was fatally shot in Austin while visiting his grandmother.
