Pipe Calderón is the stage name of Juan Felipe RamÃrez Calderón, a Colombian reggaeton and urban singer-songwriter who was born in 1983 in MedellÃn. He began his professional career as the principal guitarist for the vallenato ensemble Los Gigantes del Vallenato, a group led by his uncle Iván Calderón, before transitioning to a solo career in the urban genre. Calderón achieved a breakthrough in 2011 with the release of the single âTe Gateoâ (2011). His discography includes the studio albums No te vayas (2009), La evolución (2010), and Se lleva en la sangre (2012), as well as the compilation recording History (2018). He has received nominations for Best Artist of the Year and Best Urban Artist of the Year at awards ceremonies including Premios Shock and Nuestra Tierra, and won the APDAYC award in Peru as a breakout international musician in 2010. Following a period of focus on singles such as âAsi Es Mejorâ (2017) and âApaga el celularâ, he resumed releasing full-length projects in 2023 with the albums Back 2 The Game and Never Stop. In 2024, he collaborated with Corazón Serrano on the live recording âSolo Quiero Amarte (En Vivo)â. His later work includes the 2025 studio album La Verdadera Esencia and collaborations such as âMe Dueleâ and âAguardienteâ.
