Biography

Pink Grease was a six‑piece rock group formed in Sheffield, England, in 2002, comprising members who would later pursue individual careers in music and education. The band’s first single, "Working All Day / Manhattan On Fire", appeared in 2002, setting the stage for their debut EP, All Over You, released on 5  May  2003 to modest critical attention. In 2004, Pink Grease signed with Mute Records and issued the full‑length album This Is For Real on 21  June  2004; the single "The Pink G.R.EASE" reached number  75 on the UK charts that month. Subsequent singles such as "Strip" and "Peaches" maintained the band’s presence in the UK rock scene. Plans for a third album, Mechanical Heart, were announced for 2006–2007, but after parting ways with Mute Records the project remained unreleased, with only a handful of promotional copies circulating. Following the split, members pursued separate paths: Rory Lewarne joined White Witches, releasing Heironymus Anonymous in 2018, while Joseph John Lynch became a secondary school art teacher. Pink Grease’s catalog, though brief, remains a notable entry in early 2000s British glam‑influenced rock.
