Piknik, a Russian rock band known for its unique blend of art rock, progressive rock, and original Russian rock, was formed in 1978 in Leningrad. The group's official starting point has been considered to be the arrival of Edmund Shklyarskiy in 1981 or the year the first album ÐеÑÐ¾Ð³Ð»Ð¸Ñ was recordedâ1982. Some of their early songs are in Polish, reflecting Shklyarskiy's paternal heritage. The band released its debut album ÐеÑÐ¾Ð³Ð»Ð¸Ñ in 1987, followed by Родом ÐиоÑкÑда in 1989 and ХаÑакиÑи in 1992. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Piknik continued to release albums such as ÐÑм (1993), Ð¢Ð°Ð½ÐµÑ Ðолка (1994), and Ðемного ÐÐ³Ð½Ñ (1994). The band's discography also included notable works like ÐампиÑÑкие ÐеÑни (1995) and ÐенÑ-Ð¨ÐµÐ½Ñ (1996), showcasing their evolving sound. In 2016, the band was barred from playing in Ukraine due to their performance in Crimea after it was annexed by Russia.
