Biography
Piñata Protest is an American punk rock band from San Antonio, Texas. Formed in 2006 by lead singer and accordionist Alvaro Del Norte, the band gained early traction with their debut EP Plethora released in 2010. Their unique blend of punk rock and Tex-Mex music, featuring lyrics in both Spanish and English, quickly garnered attention. In March 2012, Piñata Protest performed at SXSW for the first time. Their EP El Valiente, released in 2013, received critical acclaim from NPR Music. The band continued to evolve, releasing their full album Necio Nights on April 6, 2018 under the Spanish label Kasba Label.
