Philippe Pascal, born on May 17, 1956 in Sidi Bel Abbès, French Algeria, was a French singer-songwriter and musician. He formed the rock band Marquis de Sade with Franck Darcel in 1978 while studying at the Université Rennes-II Haute-Bretagne. The group became notable in the Rennes music scene. After Marquis de Sade disbanded in 1992, Pascale continued with projects like Marc Seberg and a duo with Pascale Le Berre. In 1995, he founded The Blue Train Choir, a blues group. Pascale also published Lignes de fuite in 1989, which included texts from his musical projects. Philippe Pascal was found deceased at his home in Rennes on September 12, 2019. His collaboration with Isabelle Adjani on "Pour ce que je sais de toi" appeared on her album Bande originale, released in 2023.
