Guitarist and composer, founder of the band Marquis de Sade. Franck Darcel left his medical studies at an early age to devote himself to rock, which included a trip to New York and interviews with Richard Hell and David Johansen. Promoted by the press as the band's intellectual, he contributed to the image of hard German influence that Marquis de Sade had for a while. But his contribution was above all musical, and once the rhythmic base had been built (with Eric Morinière and Philippe Alexandre) he took a more pop and colorful direction. It was on this basis that he created Octobre when the Groupe disbanded in '81.
At the same time, he began working as a producer with Etienne Daho ("La Notte", "Tombé pour la France"). After a few changes, Octobre was reduced to Franck and his singer Patrick Vidal (ex-"Marie et les garçons") and became Senso until 88, when it disappeared. Since then, Franck Darcel has been mainly a producer, although a few attempts at re-formation have enabled him to launch a bassist called Pascal Obispo. He made a solo attempt with the release of a CD in '95, ATAO.
