Petr Kotvald is a Czech pop and electronic singer born on July 8, 1959, in Žatec. He rose to national prominence in the early 1980s as part of a duo with Stanislav Hložek, performing with Hana Zagorová and achieving a record-breaking hit with the song âHolky z našà školkyâ. Kotvald launched his solo career in June 1986 with the band Trik and released his debut single, âVrásky si nedÄlámâ, that same year. His early solo studio albums include PÅÃsnÄ soukromá sci-fi in 1988 and GejzÃr in 1990. He won the DiskoslavÃk poll in 1988 and 1989 and achieved third place in the Zlatý slavÃk in 1988 and 1990. His 1996 album, MCMXCVI, was awarded a Diamond Record for sales of 1.5 million units. In 2001, his project Taxitotak neber received a Golden Record. Kotvald has continued to record and perform, releasing the studio album LX in 2019.
