Biography

Stuart Langelaan, known professionally as Lange, was born on June 4, 1974, in Shrewsbury, England. He began his career as a DJ and record producer in 1997 when he signed his first recording contract with Additive Records. Early popularity came from releases that garnered attention from industry leaders such as Paul van Dyk, Sasha, Paul Oakenfold, and Judge Jules. Lange's remix work includes notable tracks like DJ Sakin's "Protect Your Mind" and Lost Witness' "Happiness Happening". His collaborations include Faithless and the Pet Shop Boys, with his remix of "New York City Boy" featured on their Pop Art album. In 1999, Lange released the vinyl-only single "I Believe", featuring vocals by Sarah Dwyer, which charted at number 68 in the UK. A year later, he released "Follow Me", featuring Cecily Fay from The Morrighan, which reached Number 1 on the UK budget album chart and stayed there for four weeks. Lange's career includes notable chart successes such as "Drifting Away", which reached number 9 in the UK Singles Chart and led to performances on BBC One's Top of the Pops. He has also headlined major music festivals including Australia's Summadayze, the Popsicle festival in San Francisco, Spooky and WEMF in Canada, and Fortdance in St Petersburg. Lange released his debut album Better Late Than Never in 2007, followed by Harmonic Motion in 2010 and We Are Lucky People in 2013.
