Biography

Gustaf Peter Lundblad (26 August 1950 – 22 December 2015) was a Swedish singer and songwriter who emerged from the Swedish pop‑rock scene in the 1970s. After early work with the group The most Remarkable Nailband and later Duga, Lundblad’s breakthrough came with the 1986 single "Ta mig till havet", which established him as a voice in Swedish pop rock. He followed this success with the albums Ta mej till havet (1986), Härliga liv… (1988), and more. In the early 2010s Lundblad returned to the studio, issuing En Obotlig Romantiker (2012) and Öga För öga (2012), both of which showcased his mature songwriting style and received favorable reviews from music critics. Throughout his career he collaborated with notable Swedish artists, including Agneta Olsson, and participated in Melodifestivalen 1983 with the entry "Vill du ha mig efter gryningen". Lundblad’s work contributed to the development of Swedish pop rock, and his recordings remain part of the country’s musical heritage. He passed away on 22 December 2015 at the age of 65 after a battle with prostate cancer.
