Gustaf Peter Lundblad (26â¯Augustâ¯1950â¯ââ¯22â¯Decemberâ¯2015) was a Swedish singer and songwriter who emerged from the Swedish popârock scene in the 1970s. After early work with the group The most Remarkable Nailband and later Duga, Lundbladâs breakthrough came with the 1986 single "Ta mig till havet", which established him as a voice in Swedish pop rock. He followed this success with the albums Ta mej till havet (1986), Härliga liv⦠(1988), and more. In the early 2010s Lundblad returned to the studio, issuing En Obotlig Romantiker (2012) and Ãga För öga (2012), both of which showcased his mature songwriting style and received favorable reviews from music critics. Throughout his career he collaborated with notable Swedish artists, including Agneta Olsson, and participated in Melodifestivalen 1983 with the entry "Vill du ha mig efter gryningen". Lundbladâs work contributed to the development of Swedish pop rock, and his recordings remain part of the countryâs musical heritage. He passed away on 22â¯Decemberâ¯2015 at the age of 65 after a battle with prostate cancer.
