Peter LeMarc is a Swedish singer and songwriter born in 1958 in Trollhättan. Born Peter Lenn Marc Fransson, he began his career playing in local bands before moving to Gothenburg in 1979 to join the group Box 81. In 1982, he moved to Stockholm and released his debut studio album, Buick. While the record received positive reviews, it achieved limited commercial success. LeMarc achieved his breakthrough in 1987 with his self-titled fifth album, Peter LeMarc, which was certified gold and earned him a Grammis award. His subsequent recordings included the albums Närmare gränsen (1988), Välkommen hem! (1990) and Sången dom spelar när filmen är slut (1991), the latter of which was certified platinum. In 1992, he released the platinum-selling album Det finns inget bättre, which won two Grammis awards for lyricist of the year and video of the year. Following a hiatus from recording his own material, LeMarc returned in 2003 with the album Det som håller oss vid liv, which reached Number 1 on the Swedish charts. He has won a total of seven Grammis awards and was inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame in 2025.
