PERSONZ, a Japanese rock band, was formed in 1983 by lead vocalist Jill, guitarist Tsukasa Tanaka, bassist Mitsugu Watanabe, and drummer Tsutomu Fujita. The band's debut album, PERSONZ, was released on September 21, 1987, marking their entry into the music scene. In 1992, Tanaka left the band and was replaced by Takeshi Honda.
Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, PERSONZ released a series of albums including The Show Must Go On (1993), Suna No Bara (1994), and Ours (1995). Notable singles from this period include "Dear Friends" (1989) and "True Love" (1991). The band's extensive career also saw them release several live albums, including Come Alive 1986-1995 (1996) and 2004-02-28 Comealive (2004). Their spanned genres such as alternative rock, J-rock, new wave, and traditional rock. PERSONZ continued to release albums into the 2000s with titles like Apollo (2001), HOME ã«ãã³ã° (2002), and Mirrorball (2004). Their discography includes collaborations such as the anime soundtrack for "sayonaraã¯è¨ããªã" from YuYu Hakusho the Movie: Poltergeist Report. Rockatherapy, PERSONZ's nineteenth full-length album, arrived in 2019.
