Biography
Per Gudmundson, born on July 30, 1955, is a Swedish folk musician and fiddle player. He grew up immersed in the Rättvik tradition of Swedish folk music. Gudmundson's career took off with his involvement in the revival of the Swedish bagpipes, collaborating with instrument maker Leif Eriksson. In 1984, he released the album Setes-Dalarna. Per Gudmundson became a member of the group Frifot in 1987, with whom he has toured extensively and released several albums including Frifot in 1991 and Flyt in 2007. Gudmundson received the Zorn Badge in gold in 2006 and, along with Bengan Janson, won the Grammis award for Folk Music of the Year in 2019 for their collaborative album Hjeltamôs.
