His initial breakthrough came with the release of "Neniña" in 1974, which reached Number 1 on Los 40 Principales. Castaño's career spanned over four decades, during which he released notable albums such as A ti neniña (1976), Motivos (1978), and Ven Conmigo a Portugal (1979). He was also recognized for his work in radio and television, hosting programs like El gran musical on Cadena SER and 300 millones on TVE. Castaño received four Ondas Awards and the National Prize for Arts and Sciences in 2011. He passed away on September 17, 2023, in Madrid.
