Biography
John Lang (also known as Pen of Chaos) is a French musician, writer, and web designer from Douarnenez, born on June 2, 1972. Influenced by Beethoven and punk, he formed metal projects such as Necropsia and Avel Fal before exploring Celtic music with instruments like the Irish flute and bagpipes. In 2000, Lang launched the humorous audio series Le Donjon de Naheulbeuk, followed by the formation of the group Naheulband in 2002. The ensemble released the studio albums Machins de taverne (2003), à poil dans la forêt (2005), Le Grimoire audio (2008), and T'as pas le niveau (2012). Lang is also the author of several fantasy novels, including Le Bouclier obscur (2006) and La Couette de l'oubli (2009). He later expanded the franchise into comics and video games, producing Le Donjon de Naheulbeuk : L'Amulette du Désordre in 2020.
