Biography

Swish are an American indie rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, formed in 1995. Founded by vocalist and bassist Lori Martin Gregory, the group featured guitarist Joe Boyle and Dinosaur Jr. drummer Patrick “Murph” Murphy. Prior to the band’s formation, Martin Gregory performed as a touring bassist for Helium. In 1996, the group released their seven-song debut EP, Supermax, which was produced by Don Fleming and distributed via Caroline/Virgin Records. The EP featured the track “Game” and received reviews in publications including CMJ New Music Report and Magnet Magazine. Swish subsequently toured with Mike Watt. In 1997, Murphy joined The Lemonheads, while Martin Gregory declined an offer to join the same lineup. Following a period of inactivity, the group resumed activity in 2014 with the release of three digital singles: “Fear”, “Crickets”, and “Lindstroms and Radar”. These tracks were recorded for the project False Maria.
