Parry Pillsbury Gripp, born September 22, 1967, in Santa Barbara, California, is an American singerâsongwriter best known for his work as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the popâpunk band Nerf Herder, formed in 1994. After completing studies at the College of Creative Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Gripp entered the music scene with Nerf Herderâs debut releases, which featured comedic, geekâculture lyrics and a punkâinfluenced sound. His solo career launched with the 2005 concept album For Those About To Shop, We Salute You, a 51âtrack project parodying product commercials, followed by the album Do You Like Waffles? in 2008. Grippâs collaborations include work with MC Lars and MC Frontalot, and he has performed theme songs for television series such as The Super Hero Squad Show, Ben 10: Omniverse, and StoryBots Super Songs. His single "Raining Tacos" was used by the city of West Palm Beach to deter homeless people from gathering in certain areas.
