Biography

The Paris-Africa collective was created in the summer of 2011 by two media personalities, Roberto Ciurleo (Radio Goom) and Nathalie André (France 2). The idea was to raise funds for the children of the Horn of Africa, affected by a terrible famine due as much to the climate as to the troubles raging in Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya and Djibouti. Des ricochets" was composed by Lionel Florence, Patrice Guirao and Frédéric Château, then presented to some sixty artists who responded. Released on October 24, 2011, "Des ricochets" saw the voices of Alpha Blondy, Hélène Ségara, Passi, Faudel, Magic System and many others cross paths, captured by a surge of solidarity and generosity. Mimie Mathy became the spokesperson for a collective and an action that continued with the release of the album À l'Unisson pour les Enfants.
