Biography

Paris Match, a Japanese musical group formed in 1998 by composer‑arranger Yosuke Sugiyama and lyricist Tai Furusawa with vocalist Mari Mizuno, emerged from Tokyo’s vibrant pop scene. Their debut came in 2000 with the album Volume One, followed by the EP Song for You in 2002, which introduced the band’s blend of bossa nova, jazz, and house to a growing audience. The group’s chronology includes successive releases such as Type Ⅲ (2002), Summer Suite (2003), Quattro (2004), and Volume One Plus (2004), each solidifying their presence on Japanese charts. Notable singles like "Voice" (2005) and "Never Stop" (2007) achieved moderate airplay, while the 2015 single "Killing You / Irving Penn No Hana No Yoni" showcased their evolving sound. Paris Match maintained a steady output with albums After Six (2006), Passion8 (2006), Our Favourite Pop (2007), Best of paris match (2007), paris match Golden Best (2009), To the Nines (2010), Edition 10 (2012), 11 (2015), All Time Classics (2019), Round 12 (2020), Flight 7 (2020), and Our Favourite Pop 2 – Tokyo Style (2022).
