Biography

Pankrti is a Slovenian punk rock band from Ljubljana formed in 1977 by Gregor Tomc and Peter Lovšin. Influenced by the UK punk scene, they began performing covers before releasing original songs like "Za železno zaveso" (1978). Their debut album Dolgcajt (1980) established them as a cult band across former Yugoslavia. Their second album, Državni ljubimci (1982), won the award for best Yugoslav album of the year. In 1984, they released Rdeči album (1984). They released Pesmi sprave (1985) and Sexpok (1987). Pankrti disbanded in 1987 following a final concert at Tivoli Hall in Ljubljana. They reunited briefly in 1996 to support the Sex Pistols and again in 2007 for a series of concerts, including a sold-out show at Arena Stožice in 2017.
