Padre Marcelo Rossi, born May 20, 1967, in São Paulo, Brazil, is a Catholic priest and singer known for his influential role in religious music in Brazil. His work is characterized by blending traditional Catholic hymns with modern music styles, making religious music more accessible and appealing to a broader audience. Initially pursuing a career in physical education, he experienced a profound spiritual awakening that led him to join the priesthood. He was ordained in 1994 and soon began using music as a medium to spread his religious message. Padre Marcelo Rossi's music career took off in the late 1990s with the release of his album Músicas para Louvar o Senhor in 1998, which became a massive hit, selling over 3 million copies. This success was followed by several other popular albums, including Canções para um Novo Milênio (2000) and Paz (2001), both certified platinum in Brazil. These releases further cemented his status as a leading figure in contemporary Christian music in his native country. Anjos, his first release after leaving Universal Music and signing with Sony BMG, came out in 2002 and quickly went platinum, paving the way for other popular releases such as Paz Sim, Violência Não - Vol.1 and 2 (2008), Ágape Musical (2011), Já Deu Tudo Certo (2013), and Imaculada - Ao Vivo (2017).
