João Geraldo Danese Silveira, known as Regis Danese, was born on April 2, 1973, in Passos, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and began his musical path as a singer and songwriter. After early work in sertanejo duets and composition for the pagode group Sóâ¯Praâ¯Contrariar, he transitioned to contemporary Christian music following a religious conversion. His solo career launched in 2004 with the album O Meu Deus é Forte and he had his breakthrough with the album Compromisso (2008) featuring the hit "Faz um Milagre em Mim", which earned a 2009 Grammy Latino nomination for Best PortugueseâLanguage Christian Album. He continued the momentum with FamÃlia (2010), then moved into a new label phase with MK Music for the live album Tudo Novo (Ao Vivo) (2011), built around âTu Podes,â which became one of his signature worship songs and was heavily programmed on Brazilian gospel radio and TV at the time, including a high-profile performance on TV Globoâs TV Xuxa. He kept releasing in the 2010s with projects such as #Profetizo (2014), shaped by personal testimony themes shared publicly by the artist and his family. In the 2020s, he remained active with singles and live recordings including âÃudio da Féâ (2023), âEscudoâ (2023), the Presença (Ao Vivo) - EP (2023), and âNoites Traiçoeirasâ (2023).
