Biography

A globetrotter born in South-East Asia and having lived in Toulouse, Andorra and Cuba, François Berthelot was always destined for music, preferably Latino. Settling in Paris in the 1970s, he became a music programmer, working for RTL among others. In 1984, François Berthelot and a partner founded a production company specializing in music for commercials. In 1988, he became a singer under the name Paco, releasing a flamenco pop version of "Amor de Mis Amores ". This song, well known to French audiences as "La Foule", sung by Edith Piaf, is in fact an adaptation of the Peruvian-Argentinian waltz "Que Nadie Sepa Mi Sufrir". A hit in autumn 1988, "Amor de Mis Amores" spent several weeks at the top of the Top 50. In the 2000s, François Berthelot returned to the studio to record an album of Cuban music that went unnoticed.
