Singer and drag artist Pabllo Vittar was born Phabullo Rodrigues da Silva in SÃ£o LuÃs, MaranhÃ£o, Brazil on November 1, 1994. He first came to the public's attention in 2014 after performing a version of Whitney Houston's âI Have Nothingâ on a Brazilian TV show. A year later, Pabllo Vittarâs rendition of Major Lazer's âLean Onâ - re-worked in Portuguese and retitled âOpen Barâ - quickly accrued more than a million social media hits and the artist's rise to fame was under way. In 2017, Pabllo Vittar released his debut solo album, Vai Passar Mai, along with the single âTodo Dia.â The single featured some controversial lyrics which became notorious when featured at the religious-oriented Brazilian Carnival. The song âK.O.â was the third single to be taken from the album and it was this song which projected him into the international spotlight after it received more than 320 million spins on social media. In 2018, he issued her second album, NÃ£o Para NÃ£o, which included the singles âProblea Seu,â âDisk Me,â and âNÃ£o Vou Deitar.â The album was a big success and led to Pabllo Vittar performing in pride festivals across the United States and Canada. His third album, 111, was released in 2020 and featured the single âParabÃ©ns.â In 2021, he released the album BatidÃ£o Tropical, which was followed later that year by the live album I am Pabllo. His fifth studio album, Noitada, was released in 2023 and included the singles âDescontrolada,â âA Meia Noite,â and âCadeado.â Later that year, Pabllo Vittar issued the remix compilation, After, which was followed the next year by BatidÃ£o Tropical Vol. 2, a sequel to his 2021 album. Over the course of his career, Pabllo Vittarâs hit singles have been adopted as unofficial anthems for Brazil's LGBTQ+ communities and he has done much to highlight diversity in a country which has been seen as becoming less tolerant in its attitude to minorities. Pabllo Vittar has become the most popular drag queen in the world, surpassing previous record holder RuPaul.
