Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man was a British alternative rock band formed in London in December 2006 following the breakup of Les Incompétents. The group featured Frederick Macpherson on vocals, Tommy Howson on bass, and Eduard Quarmby on drums. The ensemble released their debut double A-side single, âFatherhood/Motherhoodâ, in November 2007 through Transgressive Records. Known for a style blending elements of progressive rock and post-punk, the band opted to release a series of EPs rather than a traditional studio album. In 2008, they issued Opus 1: The Lay of the Land; The Turn of the Tide and Opus 2: Obscured by a Setting Sun. The group's name refers to scriptural imagery of God personified by four creatures with the faces of an ox, eagle, lion, and man. The band performed with acts such as These New Puritans and Lightspeed Champion before Macpherson departed to form the group Spector. The band officially ceased activity in 2010.
