Our Daughter's Wedding was an American synthpop trio consisting of Layne Rico on Synare synthesizer, Keith Silva on vocals and keyboards, and Scott Simon on bass-synth and saxophone. The group originated in New York but had members from California. Their debut single "Lawnchairs" reached Number 31 on the Billboard Disco Chart and Number 49 on the UK Singles Chart in August 1981. Following this breakthrough, they released their first EP Digital Cowboy in 1981, which included notable tracks such as "Target for Life". The group's debut album, Moving Windows, was released in 1982 and featured a prescient hip-hop sound produced by David Spradly. Our Daughter's Wedding toured extensively with bands like U2, Duran Duran, and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, frequently appearing on MTV as guest hosts. They also made television appearances on both the BBC and ITV, including an episode of the ITV drama Jangles. Despite their success, the band disbanded in 1984 but regrouped briefly in 2012 with a new EP release, Life's A Party.
