Biography

Astyplaz, a synthpop group from Athens, Greece, formed in 2003. The band's name combines the Ancient Greek word 'asty,' meaning city, and the French word 'plage,' meaning beach. In autumn 2005, Astyplaz released their debut album Name Your Slippers under L Music in Canada. Following this release, the group embarked on live concerts, sharing stages with notable acts such as Faithless and Chemical Brothers. In November 2006, Astyplaz made their first official North America tour, becoming the first English-speaking Greek (non-metal) band to perform in Canada and the United States. Their subsequent album Bi was released in 2008 under L Music and EMI.
