Biography

Muriel Alves—popularly known as O Muriel—was born in Goianésia, Goiás, and received his first guitar at age eight, beginning his musical journey amidst church gatherings and family performances. By 13, he was singing at school events, and at 14 he won his first major talent contest at a police military school's festival. At 17 he self-recorded his debut CD in Goiânia, gaining local traction with “Vagabundo Cachaceiro.” By 20, he won songwriter and vocalist awards at Rádio RVC in Goianésia for “Estado Grave” (2018), earning radio airplay and a music video. Transitioning into the forró genre, Muriel Alves began releasing tracks such as “Orquestrão” (2024), “Rancho do Vaqueiro” (2024), “Apaixonado em Tu” (2024), and “Búfalo do Marajó” (2025), all of which exceeded one million streams across digital platforms by 2025. His rising popularity led to partnerships with Chandon Produções to develop a national-level DVD project and bolster his presence across live circuits.
