Biography

John Nitzinger, born August 29, 1948, is an American blues rock guitarist and songwriter from Fort Worth, Texas. He began his career touring with Bruce Channel and gained local fame with the Barons. In 1968, he recorded "Plastic Window" produced by T Bone Burnett. Nitzinger contributed to Bloodrock's albums in the early 1970s and signed with Capitol Records, releasing Nitzinger (1972) and One Foot in History (1973). He also opened for B.B. King at the Longhorn Ballroom in 1975 and released Live Better Electrically in 1976. Nitzinger formed PM with Carl Palmer in 1980 and joined Alice Cooper's Special Forces tour in 1981. After a hiatus due to health issues, he returned to recording solo material, including Didja Miss Me (1997) and Kiss of the Mudman (2007). He additionally founded Nitzinger's Music Factory in 2006, working with inner-city youth.
