MarÃa Rosa GarcÃa GarcÃa was born on 15 January 1978 in Sanâ¯Fernando, Cádiz, Spain, and became a flamenco singer known as Niñaâ¯Pastori. She began performing with her mother at age four, and by eight she was competing in local flamenco contests, winning first prize at the âElâ¯Chatoâ competition in Sanâ¯Fernando. Her breakthrough came in 1995 when Sony Music released her debut single "Tú me camelas", leading to the album Entreâ¯dosâ¯puertos in 1996, which sold 150â¯000 copies and earned a platinum certification. Subsequent releases-Eresâ¯luz (1998), Cañailla (2000), MarÃa (2002), Noâ¯hayâ¯quintoâ¯malo (2004), Joyasâ¯prestadas (2006), Esperandoâ¯verte (2009), Laâ¯orillaâ¯deâ¯miâ¯pelo (2011), Ãmameâ¯comoâ¯soy (2015), Bajoâ¯tusâ¯alas (2018), and Camino (2023)-showed a blend of traditional flamenco with pop elements and featured collaborations with artists such as Alejandroâ¯Sanz, Lilaâ¯Downs, and Soledadâ¯Pastorutti. Her albums consistently charted in Spain and Latin America; Esperandoâ¯verte earned a Latinâ¯Grammy for Best Flamenco Album in 2009, and Camino received the same honor in 2023. Niñaâ¯Pastori was awarded the Medallaâ¯deâ¯AndalucÃa in 2018, a Premio⯠Odeón â¯Medalla â¯de⯠AndalucÃa in 2018, and multiple Latinâ¯Grammy nominations, solidifying her status as a prominent figure in contemporary flamenco. In 2024, she released the Christmas album Feliz Navidad.
