Niebiesko-Czarni, a Polish vocal-instrumental band, was founded in 1962 in Gdynia by music journalist Franciszek Walicki. The group won the first Festival of Young Talents in June 1962 and released their debut EP The Peppermint Twist that year. Throughout the 1960s, they released several EPs and their first full-length album Niebiesko-Czarni in 1966. The band gained international recognition with performances in France, the USA, and other countries, appearing on major radio and television shows. In 1973, they premiered the first Polish rock opera Naga. Niebiesko-Czarni disbanded in 1976 following a concert in Lviv. Throughout their career, they released eight albums and 24 singles, selling over 3.5 million copies. Notable members included CzesÅaw Niemen, Krzysztof Klenczon, Helena Majdaniec, and Wojciech Korda.
