Melissa Natalie Tkautz, born on January 24, 1974, in Sydney, Australia, is a singer known for her work in dance pop and electronic music. She began her career as an actress, appearing in various TV soap operas such as E Street, where she played the role of Nikki Spencer from September 1990 to May 1993. During this period, Melissa Tkautz was signed to Westside Records and released her debut single "Read My Lips" in June 1991, which reached Number 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart and also topped the charts in Sweden. Her subsequent singles "Sexy (Is the Word)" (1991) and "Skin to Skin" (1992) also achieved Top 20 positions on the ARIA Singles Chart. Melissa Tkautz's debut album Fresh was released in June 1992, peaking at number 15 on the ARIA Albums Chart. After leaving E Street, she continued her music career with the release of her second solo album Lost & Found in December 2005, which included a cover version of "The Glamorous Life" that reached the Top 40. In August 2011, she issued a compilation album titled The Hits & More.
