Biography

Nick Holder, born in 1969 in Toronto, Ontario, is a Canadian musician known for his work as a producer in electronic and house music. He began DJing in the early 1980s, influenced by the Detroit techno scene and artists like Derrick May and Carl Craig. Holder started producing music in 1991 and founded DNH Records and Treehouse Records. His breakthrough came with the single "Da Sambafrique" (1999), which gained cult status and led to his critically acclaimed album From Within (1999). Throughout his career, he released notable albums such as One Night in the Disco (1997) and Still On Track (1998) under Studio !K7. Holder has also contributed to various compilation albums and produced music for labels like Poker Flat Recordings and Ministry of Sound. His work spans house sounds, disco loops, and minimal Chicago style, solidifying his influence in the underground electronic music scene.
