Niamh Parsons, born in Dublin, Ireland, is an Irish singer known for her contributions to both contemporary and traditional Irish music. She began her professional career in 1990 after joining the band Loose Connections with her ex-husband, Dee. Before this, she had been singing at sessions around Dublin and was a member of Killera from 1984 to 1989. Parsons released two CDs with Loose Connections before embarking on extensive tours across Europe and the US with various groups, including Arcady and her partner Graham Dunne. She has performed solo at numerous festivals and venues worldwide, including a notable performance before President Clinton and Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern in Washington, D.C. Parsons has released several albums since 1992, including Blackbirds & Thrushes (1999). Her album Heartâs Desire (2002) won the 2003 Association for Independent Music award, followed by Live at Fylde (2005), and Kind Providence (2015).
