British Europop singer William Myers, known by the stage name Newton, was born on 3 June 1967 in Manchester. He began his career as a firefighter before transitioning into music. In 1994, Newton released his debut single "Sky High", a cover of Jigsaw's 1975 hit produced by Mike Stock and Matt Aitken. The song peaked at number eight in Australia in April 1995 and was certified gold. This success led to the release of the EP Sky High later that year. In 1996, he dropped "Sometimes When We Touch", a cover of Dan Hill's hit, which also achieved significant chart success, peaking at number five in Australia and number 32 in the UK. Subsequent singles "Don't Worry", "We're All Alone" and "How Long" emerged from his debut studio album Sweetest Secret. In 1998, two further singles were released: "He Don't Love You (Like I Love You)" and "All Out of Love". After a hiatus, he returned in 2012 with second studio album Time to Believe, which was released under Interscope Digital Distribution.
