Biography
The New Orleans Jazz Vipers, a jazz group from New Orleans, Louisiana, was formed in 1999 by Joe Braun on saxophone, John Rodli on acoustic guitar, and Jack Fine on cornet. The band is known for their performances on Frenchmen Street and their repertoire that includes songs by Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, and Louis Armstrong. Their debut album, The New Orleans Jazz Vipers, was released in 2002, followed by Live on Frenchman Street in 2004. In 2006, they released their third studio album, Hope You're Comin' Back. The band's subsequent albums include Blue Turning Grey (2013), Going! Going! Gone (2015), and Live and Viperizin' (2017). In 2004, their live album Live on Frenchman Street won the Best of The Beat Award for "Best Traditional Jazz Album." They were also nominated for a Big Easy Award in 2005.
