Nessi (born May 15, 1989 in Hamburg), whose real name is Vanessa Schulz, is a German musician with Polish and Afghan roots. The state-certified assistant for foreign languages moved to Berlin after completing her training, where she initially played in the rock band Personenaufzug and the group Set Sails before starting her solo career. The musician, who appeared in a PETA campaign in 2010, released her debut EP Escapism in 2012. She opens for bands such as Mando Diao and Erasure and performs with Zar and Nina Attal. This was followed by her second EP Twentythreeyears (2014) and appearances at Rock am Ring and as a support act for Haim, Babyshambles, John Newman, Cat Power, Take That and Jessie J in 2015. 2015 also saw the release of her debut album Rolling With The Punches. She featured on the Gamper & Dadoni single "Nobody Else" (2018); her collaboration with Kool Savas for the rapper's track "Deine Mutter" (2019) earned her her first entry into the German charts (number 26). Further musical guest contributions followed on "Friedliche Armee" (2019) by Jadu, "Immer Nur Zu Dir" (2019) with Prinz Pi and "Dicka Was" (2020) with Kool Savas feat. Her voice can also be heard on various tracks by the band Scooter between 2018-2020, including "God Save The Rave" (2021), "Bassdrum" (2021) and "FCK 2020" (2021). in 2021, she released her own singles "Bessere Fehler" feat. Kool Savas, with which she made it to number 4 in the German single trend charts, and "Perspektive" feat. The track "Wenn Ich Will" with Alicia Awa, Bounty & Cocoa, Celo Minati & Charisma also takes her to number 4 in the German single trend charts in 2022. Nessi is awarded the Berliner Bär in the category Berlin's Best Young Singer-Songwriter (Audience Award) in 2016 and the BUNTE New Faces Award Show in 2018.
