Biography

Neon Christ was an American hardcore punk band from Atlanta, Georgia. Formed in 1983 by Randy DuTeau (vocals), William DuVall (guitar), Danny Lankford (bass), and Jimmy Demer (drums), the group quickly established itself within the local music scene. Their first release was the EP Parental Suppression. Their song "Ashes to Ashes" on the International P.E.A.C.E. Benefit Compilation in 1984. The band toured extensively around Atlanta, sharing stages with notable acts such as Corrosion of Conformity and Dead Kennedys. In 1985, they added a second guitarist, Shawn Devine, before separating in February 1986 after their final show. Neon Christ reunited briefly in January 2006 for two shows and again in February 2008 for one performance, which inspired the documentary All Alone Together: Neon Christ and Atlanta Hardcore.
