Biography

Seamus Haji, born Seamus on December 30, 1968, in the United Kingdom, is a British record producer and DJ. He began his career as a DJ at age 16 at Soundsystem bar in South London, where he mixed house, soul, and hip hop music. His breakthrough came with regular appearances at Ministry of Sound and other notable venues. In 2001, Haji released his debut album God's Child / Oh Yeah. Throughout the 2000s, he produced several albums including Do U Got Funk (2003), Last Night A DJ Saved My Life (2007), and Just A Friend (2010). Notable singles include "Weekend" (2005) and "I Love Ibiza" (2012). Haji also founded the Big Love record label with Janet Bell, one of Defected Records' founders. In 2006, he was selected to create a compilation for Ministry of Sound alongside Josh Wink, Derrick Carter, and Steve Angello. His remixes include Tom Novy's "Take It" and Booty Luv's "Boogie 2nite", which reached number 2 on the UK charts. In 2010, Haji took over the A&R division at Strictly Rhythm.
