Biography
Nautilus Pompilius, a Soviet and later Russian rock band, was founded in 1982 in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg) by Vyacheslav Butusov and Dmitry Umetsky. Their debut album Moving was released in 1983. The band's music became closely associated with the Perestroika era, and their songs were featured in films like The Brother. Their studio albums included Yablokitaï with Boris Grebenchtchikov in 1996 and Ðtlantida, released in 1997. The band's last official concert took place on June 12, 1997. Following the group's disbandment, Butosov pursued a solo career while Nautilus Pompilius reunited for various festivals and special projects between 2003 and 2014.
