NajÄḥ Muḥīy al-DÄ«n SalÄm, known professionally as Najah Salam, was a Lebanese singer born on March 13, 1931, in Beirut, Lebanon. She began a musical career in 1949, recording her first songs "Hawal Ya Ghannam" and "Ya Jarihat Qalbi" in Cairo with her father, composer and writer Mohieddin Salam. Her breakthrough came during the Suez Crisis with patriotic songs featuring "Ya 'aghlaa aism fi Alwujudi" and "'Ana alniyl muqbarat lilghazaati". In Lebanon, Salam is best known for the song "Lubnan durat alsharq". She received the title of Knight by Elias Hrawi. The singer died on September 28, 2023.
