Biography

Born in Lybia, Nadia Ali is a singer-songwriter who grew up in New York City and gained fame initially with a girl group called iiO in 2002 when her song 'Rapture' made the charts in America and the UK. The group had more chart success but Ali left in 2005 to pursue a solo career. She released her debut album 'Embers' in 2008 and the first single, 'Crash and Burn', went to number six on Billboard's Dance Club Songs Chart. The track 'Love Story' (2009) topped the chart and 'Fine Print' (2009) reached number four. She released a second album 'Queen of Clubs Trilogy: The Best of Nadia Ali Remixed' in three editions in 2010. She featured on Sultan and Ned Shepard's 'Call My Name' (2011) which peaked at number five on the Dance Club Chart and number four on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart. 'Pressure' (2011) with Starkillers and Alex Kenj hit number four on the chart and she featured on Spencer & Hill's 'Believe It' (2012) and with Ali & IRO on Sultan and Ned Shepard's 'Almost Home' (2017). In 2018 she announced that she would release singles that were more pop than electronic under the name HYLLS.
