Biography

Nadau, a French musical group playing Occitan music, was formed in 1973 in Labastide‑Cézéracq, near Pau. Originally called Los de Nadau until 1991, their first album Monsur lo regent was released in 1975. Their early albums — including La venta a las enchèras (1976) and L’immortèla (1978) — explore themes of cultural heritage and love, with lyrics mostly in Béarnais (a variety of Gascon). Nadau achieved significant milestones, performing at the Paris Olympia four times (2000, 2005, 2010, and 2014). Among their most famous songs are “De cap tà l’immortèla” and “L’encantada.” The group has released nine albums, six videos, given more than 800 concerts, and sold over 60,000 records.
