Biography

Mwassi Moyindo, whose real name is Thérésa Honoré Diakanua N'silou, is a Congolese slam artist and actress born in Brazzaville in 1997. She discovered slam in 2011 during a school competition, then joined the Styl'Oblique collective in 2012, marking the start of her artistic career. Her unique style, "acoustic slam", fuses lyrical poetry and traditional music, tackling themes such as African cultural identity and women's rights. In 2024, she released her first EP entitled "N'LAKU" (meaning "flame" in Lingala), featuring six tracks including "N'laku", "Ya ngo", "Reste" and "Belle". This project confirms her artistic and social commitment, blending introspection with universal messages. Other notable singles include "Zala yo" (2021), "Ngiena" (2021), "CONGO DIETO" (2023) and "Encore là" (2023). Mwassi Moyindo is also known for her powerful stage performances, using her voice to promote female leadership and denounce violence against women. She describes herself as a "fille des deux rives", in reference to her Congolese origins on both sides of the Congo River.
