Biography

Born in Mauritania in 1971, Daby TourÃ© is the heir to a triple musical culture: African, English-speaking and French-speaking. Son of Hamidou TourÃ©, of the group TourÃ© Kunda, he moved to France in 1992 and formed the duo TourÃ© TourÃ© with his cousin Omar. A multi-instrumentalist and performer with a soft, haunting voice, Daby TourÃ© signed with the Real World label for the album Diam (2004), followed by Stereo Spirit (2007). His third solo album Lang(u)Age, released in 2012, blends French, English, Wolof and Arabic. Three years later, Amonafi was released, recorded in his Paris studio.
