Biography

Mr. Bloe was formed at the end of the 1960s in the United Kingdom as a studio project by British session musicians. The group worked in the London studio and library music scene. The British musician and producer Zack Laurence is regarded as the central figure. He works as an arranger, pianist and composer for numerous pop and television productions. Musically, Mr. Bloe moves between instrumental pop, jazz-funk, easy listening and pop-rock. The group is best known for the single "Groovin' With Mr. Bloe". The track was released in 1970 and was based on a harmonica melody with clear blues and groove influences. The single surprisingly became an international hit. In the UK, the song reached number 2 in the singles charts. The release also achieved high chart positions in Germany and other European countries. The success of "Groovin' With Mr. Bloe" led to the release of the album Groovin' With Mr. Bloe in 1970. The album contains further instrumental groove and pop pieces in the style of British studio music of the time.
