Biography
Morio Agata, born 山縣 森é on September 12, 1948, in Rumoi, Hokkaido, Japan, is a folk rock singer-songwriter and actor. His music career began with the release of his debut album Chikuon Ban in August 1970. Agata's breakthrough came with his 1972 single "Sekishoku ErejÄ«", which sold over half a million copies and remains his most successful release to date. The song was inspired by Seiichi Hayashi's manga series Red Colored Elegy. Following this success, Agata released several albums, including Otome no Roman in September 1972 and Ah Mujou Les Miserables in March 1974. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he continued to produce music with notable releases such as Eienno Engokuno Uta in April 1986 and El Jaguar del Bandoneon in January 1987. Agata also directed three films: Boku wa Tenshi ja Naiyo (1975), Åtobai ShÅjo (1994), and Minato no RokisÄ« (1999). His discography includes over 30 albums, with releases such as ãªãªãªã³ã®æ£® in January 2024.
