Moral Code X, also known as Moralny Kodex, is a Russian rock band founded in Moscow, Soviet Union, in 1989 by producer and poet Pavel Zhagun and saxophonist Sergey Mazayev. Their debut album Sotryasenie Mozga (1991) marked the beginning of their career. In the early 1990s, Moral Code X was recognized as a popular rock band in Russia. Internal disagreements and frontman Sergey Mazayev's struggles with alcohol led to a temporary hiatus after their second album Gibkij Stan (1993). The band released Good News in 2001. In 2004, drummer Yuriy Kistenev left the band, and Mazayev invited Zack Sullivan to replace him. Their sixth studio album, Winter, was released in 2014.
